Maryam Nawaz approves 10-day Basant in Lahore from 29 January to 7 February

Basant will be celebrated in Lahore for 10 days. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved it.

On the arrival of the new year 2027, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that Lahore residents be given a gift of a 10-day Basant. Under the plan, Basant will be celebrated from 29 January to 7 February. There will be a one-day break in the festivities on 5 February to observe “Kashmir Day”.

She said the 10-day Basant would help promote the cultural colours of Punjab and the ancient historical tradition of Lahore across the world. She directed that better measures be taken for the safety and convenience of citizens, even beyond those taken for the last Basant.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif appealed to the public to set a new example, as they did during the last Basant, with a sense of duty, responsibility and care, so that human life is protected.

It may be recalled that, after a gap of 25 years, Basant was celebrated in Lahore this year from 6 to 8 February.
