Malaysia says it will not allow aid for Israeli military to pass through its territory

Anwar Ibrahim said in a statement on the Social Media platform X that Malaysia would not be used as a route for any shipment that assists or contributes to Israeli military capabilities and to atrocities against innocent people, including Palestinians.
He said suspect shipments would be inspected and investigated under Malaysian law. Decisive action would be taken if a violation was proved.
His remarks came after a Bloomberg report said Malaysian authorities had stopped the movement of all shipments bound for Israel from the country’s major port.
Authorities had also stopped three containers on 19 August last month. Malaysia has no diplomatic or trade relations with Israel.
