Jamaat-e-Islami marching on Islamabad, will not return until demands met: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the Jamaat-e-Islami movement was continuing across the country. He said workers remained firm on their demands despite difficult conditions. He said sit-ins were also continuing in Malakand, Chitral and Balochistan despite the worst conditions, which showed that workers were steadfast in their stand.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said Jamaat-e-Islami was moving towards Islamabad. He said it would not merely reach there formally and return, but would continue its struggle until its demands were met. He said the movement would benefit the whole nation, not one political party.

The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami said all political parties, including PTI, should have the constitutional right to protest. He said PTI had supported the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-ins, and that various political circles were also backing the party’s movement.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had also visited Mansoorah and later joined the sit-in in Peshawar. He said a resolution on Jamaat-e-Islami’s demands had also been tabled in the Sindh Assembly.

He said he might meet PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the next few days. According to Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the PPP is also supporting the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-ins.
