Solidarity and the Kashmir issue

Assistant Commissioner Habibur Rehman Kakar said Kashmir Black Day was observed to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people and to draw the attention of the international community to the Kashmir issue. He said the Kashmiri people had long been struggling for their basic rights and the right to self-determination, and the people of Pakistan stood with them.

He added that Black Day was observed every year in memory of the events that took place in Kashmir on 27 October 1947, so that the hardships of the Kashmiri people could be highlighted and a voice could be raised globally for a just solution to the Kashmir issue.

At the end of the rally, the participants pledged to continue supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. They said the international community should play an effective role in a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
