USTTA MUHAMMAD: A key meeting of the Price Control Committee was held under Assistant Commissioner Ustta Muhammad Muhammad Ramazan Ishtiaq on the special directions of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ramazan Pallal. Representatives of the traders’ association and officials concerned attended. The meeting reviewed the prices of food items, especially flour, across the district. It also reviewed the market situation, the availability of essential items and the implementation of official rate lists.

The Assistant Commissioner directed the trading community to implement the official rate lists in all circumstances. He said flour and other basic items were a daily need of the people and any unjustified increase in their prices was unacceptable. He said profiteering, hoarding and violation of the rate list could lead to strict legal action, including fines and sealing of shops.

He told traders to display the official rate lists prominently and not to charge more than the fixed rates. He said Islam also stressed honesty, justice and moderation in trade, and that taking advantage of people’s helplessness was a disliked act. At the end of the meeting, it was directed that prices in the markets be monitored regularly and that action be taken against violators without discrimination.
