Usta Muhammad: On the special instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, Usta Muhammad, the district administration has begun practical measures to organise the city’s traffic system, end unnecessary congestion on main roads and provide residents with better transport facilities.
In this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Usta Muhammad, Ms Maria Shamoon, attended by the Tehsildar, the Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee and the President of the Rickshaw Association.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of the obstacles to traffic flow caused by the unregulated parking of rickshaws in various parts of the city, particularly on main roads and at important intersections.
Following mutual consultation, the meeting decided that all rickshaws would be moved to the Gandakha bus stand to improve the traffic system in the city, and that a complete ban would be imposed on rickshaw parking from the Railway Phatak to Shabbir Chowk.
The aim of this measure is to keep main roads open for traffic, prevent traffic jams and facilitate movement for all residents, including pedestrians.
