Quetta explosives committee told to enforce laws on explosive materials strictly

QUETTA: A review meeting of the District Explosive Committee (DEC) was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar. Representatives of the departments concerned and law enforcement agencies attended.

The meeting reviewed in detail safety measures, licensing and procedures relating to explosives, blasting material and related matters across the district.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) directed the agencies concerned to ensure strict enforcement of the laws in force on the stockpiling, transport and use of explosive materials.

He stressed effective coordination between departments, timely sharing of information and more effective regular monitoring. He said all institutions should carry out their duties with full honesty to protect the lives and property of the public.
