Naseerabad commissioner says no compromise on quality of Rs2.5bn Dera Murad Jamali package

NASEERABAD: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Naseerabad Division Commissioner Salahuddin Noorzai to review progress on the Integrated Development Package for Dera Murad Jamali. SSP Naseerabad Asad Nasir, Communication and Works Department sub-divisional officers Abid Ali Pahnwar and Sajjad Ali Umrani, and other officials attended.

What the project includes

Project Coordinator Saleh Shah told the meeting that, under the package, 22 kilometres of blacktop roads are being built on the eastern side. Also being built are 26 kilometres of new water supply lines, including pipelines of various diameters, one pumping station, two water tanks, two storage tanks, an overhead tank with a capacity of 30,000 gallons, and more than 23 kilometres of modern sewerage system. Seven solarised pumping stations are also part of the project. The meeting was also informed of the problems facing the project.

Commissioner Salahuddin Noorzai said the project under way on the eastern side of Dera Murad Jamali, at a cost of about Rs2.5 billion, would bring a positive change to people’s lives. He said there would therefore be no compromise on the quality of construction.

He directed that special attention be paid in particular to clean drinking water, the sewerage system and the grading of drains. He also directed that the project be monitored continuously and that all development work be completed on time and to a good standard, keeping future needs in view, so that public expectations could be met.
