Naseerabad commissioner chairs divisional polio task force meeting

NASEERABAD: A meeting of the divisional task force on the polio campaign was held under the chairmanship of Naseerabad Division Commissioner Salahuddin Noorzai. Representatives of the WHO gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements and progress of the polio campaign about to begin across the division.

Naseerabad Deputy Commissioner Virendar Lal and District Health Officer Dr Ayaz Hussain Jamali were present at the meeting. The Deputy Commissioners, District Health Officers and DHOs of all other Districts joined through video link. Dr Zahir Hussain Umrani and other officials concerned also attended.

The Naseerabad Commissioner directed that all arrangements for the polio campaign be finalised immediately, with special attention to the micro-plan and team training. He said the monitoring system in low-performing union councils should be improved. Where performance is weak or risks exist, special measures should be taken with an effective strategy.

He directed the Deputy Commissioners, DHOs and other officials concerned to make field monitoring during the polio campaign more effective, so that the target of giving polio drops to every child could be met successfully.
