The meeting reviewed the state of private educational institutions in Kech, school registration, basic facilities, teachers’ salaries, administrative matters and improvement in the standard of education. It was told that Kech has 52 private schools in all, but the state of basic facilities in most of them is not satisfactory.
Tabish Ali Baloch said the Private Schools Association needed to be made organised and active so that coordinated steps could be taken to resolve the problems of private institutions and improve the education system. He directed that a strong committee be formed for the association and that registration under the BCRA be completed.
He said a committee would be formed under the District Education Officer Kech. It would visit schools and review water, electricity, washrooms, the learning environment and other facilities. Institutions found without facilities or in violation of the rules would face action in accordance with the regulations.
The meeting also considered the problems of teaching staff in private schools, particularly the issue of salaries. The participants agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the district administration and the association to promote quality education.
