Gwadar Port chairman meets KPT chairman, stresses port cooperation

KARACHI/GWADAR: Gwadar Port chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch met Karachi Port Trust Chairman Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed, SI(M), SBt (retd), at the KPT head office. The KPT chairman welcomed the Gwadar Port chairman.

The meeting discussed changing geopolitical and economic conditions, the current traffic situation at the Karachi and Gwadar ports, and future strategy to further strengthen Pakistan’s maritime sector.

It also reviewed practical, forward-looking steps to restore and improve port operations, promote connectivity, increase the competitiveness of the ports and make use of the vast potential in Pakistan’s maritime economy.

It was stressed that better connectivity and mutual cooperation between the Karachi and Gwadar ports could play an important role in the development of Pakistan’s maritime sector and the promotion of trade.
