Gwadar AC Romail Naeem Jan gives tablets and solar systems to schools at dropout prevention training

GWADAR: Assistant Commissioner Gwadar Romail Naeem Jan has said that, under the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Balochistan government’s education reforms, quality education for every child and effective prevention of school dropout are among the government’s top priorities.
He said this at the inauguration of a two-day dropout prevention training session at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Gwadar.
The training programme was held with the support of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and UNICEF, in collaboration with the Balochistan Education Department, the Education Support Programme (ESP) and the Centre for Professional Development (CPD). Its aim was to equip teachers with modern teaching and monitoring methods, bring about an effective reduction in students leaving school and further improve the quality of education.
Early warning system and dropout prevention app
Participants were given detailed information on the Early Warning System (ABC Model). By monitoring students’ academic performance, behaviour and continued absence, it will make it possible to identify students at risk of dropping out in time. Teachers were also trained in the practical use of the OMR attendance register and the modern dropout prevention app, so that students’ progress can be monitored effectively and guidance given in time.
Assistant Commissioner Romail Naeem Jan praised the efforts of the Education Support Programme team. He said that the use of modern technology and an effective monitoring system would bring positive and lasting results in the education sector in future. He urged teachers to put the skills gained in the training to practical use and play an active role in keeping every child in education.
Later, the Assistant Commissioner Gwadar provided every school in the district with tablets, solar systems and power banks for the effective use of the dropout prevention app, so that the modern monitoring system can continue without interruption despite power cuts and other technical obstacles.
He praised the professional abilities, spirit and determination of the teachers and master trainers who took part in the training. He expressed the hope that the programme would prove a milestone in raising student attendance, improving the quality of education and bringing a significant reduction in the dropout rate in Gwadar district.
At the end of the two-day training session, participants gained important skills in practical modern teaching and monitoring methods. These will play a key role in implementing an effective dropout prevention strategy in educational institutions across the district.
