Barkhan polio drive: Deputy Commissioner directs 100pc coverage on second day

BARKHAN: On 4 November, polio teams remained fully active on the second day of the anti-polio campaign under way across the district under the supervision of Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Saeed-ur-Rehman Kakar.

During the campaign, field teams went door to door and gave polio drops to children up to five years of age. Steps were also taken to reach children who had been missed.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Saeed-ur-Rehman Kakar directed the departments concerned and the polio teams to ensure that the campaign’s set targets were met, coverage reached 100 per cent and every child was given polio drops.

He stressed effective monitoring of the teams’ performance and the use of all available resources to make the campaign a success.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to parents to have all their children up to five years of age given polio drops and to cooperate with the polio teams, so that children could be protected from the crippling disease.
