Deputy Commissioner Sohrab Sahibzada Najeebullah visited the Jhalawan Model Public High School in Sohrab along with male and female members of the District Education Group and a team from the Education Department. The quality of education, teaching activities, basic facilities and administrative affairs were reviewed.

On this occasion, students, both boys and girls, demonstrated PT and physical exercises. The Deputy Commissioner asked them questions from the curriculum and praised their academic abilities, discipline and confidence.

He also inspected the school building, classrooms, cleanliness, teacher attendance, records and other facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner described as commendable the school administration’s initiative of engaging teachers on additional remuneration to provide free education during evening hours.

Directives on private school fees and facilities

On the matter of winter fees at private schools, the Deputy Commissioner made clear that a formal policy and standard operating procedures would be framed for setting and collecting fees, so that the interests of parents and students are safeguarded.

He also stressed the availability and functioning of science laboratories in private schools.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Education Department to carry out a detailed review, within one week, of the records of all private schools in Sohrab, particularly fee collections over the past five years and educational facilities, so that a transparent and workable policy for private educational institutions can be framed.
