Quetta Deputy Commissioner Orders Continued Coverage of Polio-Refusing Children

Quetta: Under the directions of Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini, special measures are continuing in Quetta district to cover children whose parents have refused polio vaccination.

Assistant Commissioner Saddar Quetta Muhammad Yousuf Hashmi, Assistant Commissioner Sariab and Special Magistrate Sariab, accompanied by their teams, visited refusing families door to door in various areas.

The Assistant Commissioner Sariab met parents in Union Council Ahmed Khanzai and the Industrial Zone, while the Special Magistrate Sariab met parents in Union Council Parkani Abad and persuaded them to give polio drops to their children. As a result, 13 refusing children were given polio vaccine drops.

Similarly, the Assistant Commissioner Saddar Quetta visited refusing households in the Zarghoon Abad and Kotwal areas, addressed parents’ concerns and took steps to ensure their children were vaccinated.

Directions for covering remaining refusing children

Officers directed that the remaining refusing children also be covered through continuous follow-up and catch-up drives, so that no child is left without polio vaccine drops and full coverage is ensured.
