Schedule set for Mir Kalmati Inter-Educational School Sports Festival 2026 in Gwadar

GWADAR: A meeting was held at the District Education Office Gwadar to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the opening ceremony and the sports competitions of the Mir Kalmati Inter-Educational School Sports Festival 2026. The festival is being organised jointly by the Education Department and the Mir Kalmati Academy. District Education Officer Zahid Hussain chaired the meeting.

District Officer Education Wahab Majeed, Deputy District Education Officer Muhammad Hassan, District Football Association president and Mir Football Academy head Mir Arshad Kalmati, UNICEF District Programme Manager Adil Nodezi, District Training Manager Saqar Nasir and Nazir Dawood attended. The meeting reviewed in detail the opening ceremony, the various competitions, administrative matters, the participants’ responsibilities and the schedule.

Schedule of girls’ and boys’ tournaments

It was decided that the sports tournament for girls’ schools will be inaugurated on 5 September 2026 at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Gwadar. Girls’ cricket, football and tug-of-war competitions will begin there. The tournament for boys’ schools will be formally inaugurated on 7 September 2026 at the Baba Bizenjo Football Stadium Gwadar. It will include a school football tournament, a sports walk and tug-of-war.

The meeting was told that all programmes of the festival will be held in an organised, transparent and disciplined manner. This is so that students of government and private educational institutions get equal opportunities for healthy activities, positive competition and showing their abilities. It was also stressed that sports play an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, teamwork, discipline, tolerance and positive competition among students. This is fully in line with the government’s policies on education and youth welfare.
