The PDMA said flash floods are also feared in seasonal streams. The relevant departments of health, irrigation, communications and works, local government and livestock have been put on alert.
The administration concerned has also been directed to take the necessary measures in view of the risk of landslides in Murree, Galiyat and other hilly areas.
The DG PDMA appealed to citizens to take precautions in bad weather. He urged them to avoid living in mud-built and dilapidated houses, as more deaths have been reported during the monsoon from the collapse of such houses.
In the event of storms and high winds, people have been advised to stay in safe places and avoid unnecessary travel.
Citizens have also been advised to stay in safe places to protect themselves from lightning. They should keep children away from low-lying areas, standing water, electric wires and poles.
