IG Police Muhammad Tahir visits Pishin, urges force to fight terrorism with resolve

PISHIN: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has said that the police force must continue to perform its duties with resolve, diligence, professional skill and courage to protect the lives and property of the people, maintain law and order and completely eradicate the menace of terrorism. Police officers and personnel are the protectors of the people, he said, and should carry out their duties honestly and dutifully, treating them as national and public service and as worship.
He said this while addressing police officers and personnel during a visit to Pishin. DIG Zhob Range Suhail Ahmed, SSP Pishin Captain (retd) Naveed Alam and other police officers were also present.
The IG Police was given a detailed briefing on the overall security situation in Pishin district, law and order, police performance, available resources and the newly recruited police personnel.
Bond of trust between police and public
Muhammad Tahir directed that, keeping in view the traditions and values of the province, the protection of citizens’ lives and property be made the first priority. He said the bond of trust between the police and the public was of fundamental importance for peace. Personnel should therefore treat people with courtesy, respect and responsibility, and ensure protection and justice for every citizen without discrimination.
He said that in the present circumstances the police must continue effective action against terrorism and crime, and also improve their professional skills in line with modern requirements. Only a strong and trusted police force can ensure peace, security and the rule of law in society, he said.
The IG Police said Balochistan Police had rendered valuable services for the maintenance of law and order despite limited resources and difficult conditions. He said attention would also be paid to raising the force’s professional capacity and providing the facilities its personnel need.
He urged the newly recruited personnel to focus on training and to make discipline, respect for the law, professional skill and public service the basic principles of their working lives, as the new generation of police personnel would represent Balochistan Police in the future. He made it clear that the real strength of the police force lies in public trust and in the discipline and sense of duty of its personnel.
DIG Zhob Range Suhail Ahmed, SSP Pishin Captain (retd) Naveed Alam and other officers briefed the IG Police on the law and order and security situation in the district and the measures under way to protect the public.
