Tribal elders of Toba Kakari and Barshore meet Shoaib Nosherwani over PMDC land allotment

QUETTA: Tribal elders from Toba Kakari and Barshore met Provincial Minister for Finance and Mines and Minerals Mir Shoaib Nosherwani. They discussed in detail matters related to the allotment of local land to the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC).
The delegation informed the provincial minister of its concerns over the ownership and allotment of the land. It said the land belonged to local tribes and local owners, so the local landowners must be taken into confidence in any matter.
The delegation demanded that responsible representatives of the PMDC hold formal talks with the local landowners and tribal elders. It said this would allow all legal, administrative and local concerns to be resolved through mutual consultation.
Mir Shoaib Nosherwani listened carefully to the delegation’s position. He assured it that the matter would be taken up at the relevant forum and that the concerns of the local people would be properly placed before the authorities concerned. The meeting also discussed the rights to local land, mineral resources and the protection of the legitimate interests of the local population.
