Gwadar: Waseem Samad reviews provision of electric wheelchairs to disabled people

GWADAR: Waseem Samad, Special Assistant to Member of the Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, met Social Welfare Officer Obaidullah Baloch of the Social Welfare Department. The meeting reviewed the provision of wheelchairs to deserving disabled people, along with the registration and listing process.

Waseem Samad said that, under the provincial government’s welfare policy, facilities and support must be ensured for disabled people. He urged that the listing of deserving disabled people who are studying at educational institutions or are in jobs or employment be completed soon, so that electric wheelchairs could be given to them.

He directed that registration be speeded up so that ordinary wheelchairs could be given to other deserving people, and that genuine beneficiaries be given priority on the basis of transparency and merit. The Social Welfare Officer briefed him on the ongoing process and assured him that steps would be taken soon.
