Emergency or governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ready, hinges on talks

ISLAMABAD (Atemad Desk): All preparations for imposing emergency or governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been completed. However, the final decision will depend on the outcome of talks between delegations of the government and the opposition.
According to sources, the groundwork for administrative changes, including deputy commissioners and secretaries, has been completed. A list of postings of regional and district police officers has also been prepared.
A proposal to impose emergency in 12 districts of the province in the first phase is also under consideration.
Sources said that if talks between the opposition, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and the federal government succeed, neither emergency nor governor’s rule will be imposed. An important meeting is expected in Islamabad soon in this regard.
