QUETTA: On the directions of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, an open court was held at the DC Office Complex under the chairmanship of Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini. Citizens attended in large numbers and presented their problems and complaints.

Administrative officers and officials of the departments concerned attended the open court. They included those from gas, Wapda, Safa Quetta, police, traffic police, the Metropolitan Corporation, Nadra, the PDMA, and the health, education, Wasa, PHE and irrigation departments. Assistant commissioners and tehsildars were also present.

Citizens submitted applications on gas, electricity, local and domicile certificates, revenue, Nadra and other public issues. The Deputy Commissioner of Quetta ordered the immediate redress of problems that could be resolved on the spot. For other complaints, he gave the officers concerned the necessary instructions and stressed that they must be acted upon.

Mehrullah Badini said the main purpose of holding open courts was to provide relief to people at their doorstep, make it easier for citizens to reach government departments and ensure their problems were resolved in good time.

He directed the officers concerned to take public complaints seriously, avoid unnecessary delay and act on all applications on merit so that people received relief.

The Deputy Commissioner further said the district administration was committed to public service and to resolving citizens’ problems. He said the performance and measures of all the departments concerned would be made more effective in this regard.
