Security tightened in Quetta and across Balochistan for Friday prayers
QUETTA: Strict security arrangements were made in different areas of the provincial capital during Friday prayers to deal with any untoward incident.
Forces were deployed inside and outside mosques and imambargahs, and people entering them were thoroughly searched. Suspicious individuals were closely watched.
Forces also remained deployed at main bazaar intersections and sensitive places, while the search of vehicles coming into Quetta was also tightened. Double riding was banned.
Prayers and sermons by clerics
During Friday prayers, clerics offered collective prayers for the country’s stability, an end to terrorism and the success of the Muslim Ummah.
In the sermons, people were urged to end their differences and unite against the satanic forces that want to weaken the country.
The clerics said Islam was the only religion that taught humanity. Those who carry out terrorism in the name of Islam had nothing to do with Islam, and did not even deserve to be called human beings.
They said the country had become independent in the name of Islam and Allah Almighty would Himself protect it, but it was also the duty of everyone to look after the national interest along with personal interests.
