Iran does not want war but will not stay silent on aggression, says President Pezeshkian

Turkish news agency Anadolu reported that the Iranian president made the remarks after the United States attacked Iran’s Larak island.

Speaking before leaving for an international summit in Kyrgyzstan, Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran would give a full response to any future attack. “If Iran is attacked, we will give the aggressors a decisive reply,” he said.

He added that instability and unrest in the region were in the interest of no country and would create difficulties for all.

Masoud Pezeshkian has left for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Earlier, speaking to the media, the Iranian president responded sarcastically to those who deny the effects of sanctions. He said Iranian exports had fallen by 25 to 35 per cent.

President Masoud Pezeshkian had earlier taken a firm position, saying Iran did not want war but would stand against every aggressor with full force.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said no power could force the Iranian nation to surrender. He said Iran had not started the war and did not want one. He said establishing peace and stability in the region was Iran’s priority, and that World peace and stability should begin with the region.
