Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM reaches Lakki Marwat long march by official helicopter despite court order

LAKKI MARWAT (Aitemad Desk): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister has reached Lakki Marwat by government helicopter to take part in the PTI long march, despite the directions of the Islamabad High Court.

In its 37-page detailed verdict on the long march on 18 September, the Islamabad High Court barred provincial governments and chief ministers from using official resources in political marches or protests. Under the verdict, government funds, vehicles, helicopters, officials or machinery cannot be used for any march towards Islamabad. The court had declared peaceful protest a constitutional right, but did not allow participants to bring weapons.

Meanwhile, intelligence sources claim that photographs circulating on social and digital media show men armed with assault rifles among the participants of the long march.

According to the sources, one of the armed men has been identified as Shahidullah, alias Ghazi, a Khwarij of the Gul Bahadur group. He is a resident of Makin and has taken part in several terrorist attacks. The process of identifying other terrorists hiding behind the march is also continuing.
