IRGC spokesman Hussein Mohebbi puts questions to the American public

Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hussein Mohebbi has put several questions to the American public.

Addressing a press conference in Tehran, the IRGC spokesman said that if America only had to defend itself, why did it have 800 military bases around the world. He asked what justified such a huge military budget. He said that wherever killing took place, its links led back to America. He said the American public should think about why all this was happening.

The IRGC spokesman said people knew that the American military was involved in crimes. He asked why the American president did not dare to travel to many countries. He asked why 39 million people in America were living below the poverty line. He asked why millions were homeless if America was prosperous. He said America still had no comprehensive public health system.

He further said American rulers told many lies to their own people. He said that when Iranians chanted “Death to America”, it was a criticism of American policies and not a call for the death of the American people. For this reason, he said, Iran had decided to speak to the American public in a realistic manner.

He said that during the United Nations General Assembly session, the Iranian delegation did not have adequate media resources and so could not convey its message clearly to the American public. He said the claim that Iran was trying to acquire nuclear weapons was the biggest lie of this century.
