NORTHERN DERA BUGTI: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti held an open court for the third consecutive day. He heard the problems of citizens from different districts directly. He directed the officials concerned to take the necessary steps to resolve them at once.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also met tribal elders. They discussed the problems of the area, its development needs and the difficulties faced by the public.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that resolving public problems and providing basic facilities were among the government’s priorities. He said the purpose of the open courts was to give people a chance to bring their complaints directly to the government leadership and to make the departments concerned answerable for resolving them.

He directed the officials to act immediately on the complaints of citizens and not to delay the resolution of public problems in any way.

The Chief Minister said there was no no-go area in Balochistan and the people of the province stood with the state and the security forces. He said members of the assembly from the government and opposition parties in the province visited their constituencies regularly and stayed in touch with the people by attending local events.

Construction of link roads

Speaking on regional development and the importance of link roads, the Chief Minister said efforts had been made to obtain funds from the federal government for the highway linking Taunsa in Punjab with Balochistan. Similarly, orders had been issued for a survey for the construction of a road from the Chhappar national highway to Kharrar Bazdar.

Once the project is completed, Balochistan will have another alternative route to Punjab. This will ease travel and also promote trade.

Education and health

The Chief Minister said special instructions had been issued to open government schools in all the areas included in Barkhan district, among them Andar Pahoor, Merri Wah and Rara Shum. He said the government was taking steps to provide educational facilities and to ensure that educational institutions functioned. He said girls’ education was being given equal importance, and a pilot project was under way to give girls better educational opportunities.

On the occasion, political and social leader Mir Yaqoob Bazdar met the Chief Minister and informed him of the problems and development needs of the area. The Chief Minister directed that the necessary steps be taken on the matters raised.

For medical facilities and the timely transfer of patients in the area, the Chief Minister directed that an ambulance service be provided at once to carry patients from Kharrar Bazdar to Dera Ghazi Khan. He made clear that the Balochistan government would bear the monthly costs of the ambulance service so that citizens of the area could get help in an emergency.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed the resolve that the government would continue to take practical steps to resolve public problems, improve education and health facilities and carry forward development in backward areas.
