Goods transporters in Balochistan told to renew route permits

QUETTA: According to a circular of the Transport Department of the Balochistan government, all goods transport owners have been directed to complete the necessary action, as per the prescribed procedure, to renew their route permits and validate their contracts. This follows the creation of new divisions, sub-divisions and districts by the Balochistan government.

According to the circular, owners of goods transport vehicles plying on the Quetta-Karachi, Sukkur and Dera Ghazi Khan routes, and on the Quetta-Khuzdar, Kalat and other related routes, will have to renew their route permits and make the necessary changes to their contracts.

The renewal and validation of contracts for the relevant 11 divisions has also been made mandatory for obtaining a permit for the whole of Balochistan or a regional route permit.

All goods transport owners have been directed to ensure full compliance with the instructions given in the notice. Legal action will be taken against violators under the Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965 and the Motor Vehicles Rules 1969.
